I've Mastered Procrastinating
When it comes to procrastinating, I really have it mastered and it is definitely becoming a huge negative in my life. Procrastination is putting it all of tomorrow when you can do it today. I find myself sitting down to do one thing and then my mind wonders off and I feel I need to do something else.
Let me use school as an example. I attend a local community college and I take a lot of classes online. I know every assignment, reading, etc that is due at least 7 days prior to the due date. Yet, I wait until the day the assignment is due, to begin. This will include discussion posts, responses to other students, chapter assignment questions, readings, quizzes and sometimes writing a paper. I literally spend at least 10 hours in one day trying to get it all done and normally I do. My procrastinating has caused me to miss assignments as well, losing points and bringing down my GPA. I am confident that I would be a better student if I planned accordingly.
I have done some research on how to stop procrastinating or at least some suggestions to get it under control. I came across "3 Ways to Stop Procrastination." It's a good read with a lot helpful tips. You can read it by clicking this link. In the meantime, I'm going to work harder at planning when it comes to certain aspects of my life. This semester is just about over so I'll have to report back later when Winter terms starts in January and give you an update if I've gotten this procrasting thing under control.
